Ms. Katie Kershaw is living her dream as the high school choral director and music teacher at Northern Burlington Regional High School. She is a suma cum laude graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she received her BM in Music Education with a concentration in voice. 

Katie is currently in her 10th year of teaching, having spent the first nine years of her career in Pemberton Twp, NJ and Washington Twp, NJ before being named Choral Director at Northern Burlington last year. At Northern, Katie directs the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Treble Choir, and Chorale, and teaches Music Theory and Music Appreciation. She is also the vocal director for the spring musical. Throughout her teaching career, Katie’s choirs have earned superior ratings at choral festivals and performed in a wide variety of school and community events. As a choral singer and conductor, Katie has had the privilege of collaborating with remarkable musicians such as Rollo Dilworth, Bramwell Tovey, and Eric Whitacre at esteemed venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kimmel Center. In 2021, she made her Kimmel Center conducting debut with her honors treble ensemble as the first place winners of the B101 Christmas Choir Competition. Most recently, Katie was accepted as a participant in The King’s Singers Summer Institute at Princeton University, where she collaborated and performed with The King’s Singers themselves.

Outside of school, Katie is proud to serve as Artistic Director of the Rancocas Valley Singers; an adult community choir based in Mt. Holly, NJ. She is in her 9th year as an active performer with the prestigious Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia. Katie is also a cat lover, a Broadway fanatic, and an avid tennis fan. Katie is incredibly honored and excited to direct the All South Jersey Junior High Choir this year, and cannot wait for all of the music making and memories with such remarkable students!
